Masks have accompanied human culture for centuries, serving as objects of ritual, celebration, transformation, protection, and identity. Across different traditions, they inhabit a space between the visible and the imagined—concealing one identity while revealing another.

This series brings together masks from diverse cultural traditions, from the ceremonial masks of Venice and the ancient traditions of China, Korea, and Japan to the rich visual languages of Africa. Each work begins with a mask, but moves beyond its physical form to explore the stories, rituals, characters, and encounters that surround it.

These paintings are not representations of masks alone. They are interpretations of cultural memory and human experience—vivid encounters between different worlds, where history, tradition, imagination, and the contemporary gaze meet.

Through color, gesture, and composition, the masks become more than objects. They become presences: fragments of stories, traces of rituals, and faces through which cultures speak.
